Hi, I’m Cassi and I love design, illustration, and typography.
My love for art started young, and at the age of 12, my parents gave me my first copy of Photoshop. I was instantly hooked. One day, I took a picture of my sister and covered her face in large, exaggerated pimples. It was hilarious, but for some reason it made her upset. After that, my parents sat me down and explained that with great Photoshop power, comes great Photoshop responsibility. That changed my life, I was only twelve but after that day I knew what I wanted to do for the rest of my life: I wanted to fill the world with beautiful stuff.
I'm a lot older now, and a bit wiser too. My love for photoshop soon grew into artistic talent spanning many programs and mediums. While completing my BFA at Weber State University I accumulated a love for pattern making, one I thought could never lead to a career, but maybe a hobby that could bring me joy. I graduated with resolve to start looking for a job in web design. I didn't even apply for one. The first job I found was for a product designer at American Crafts.
My job at American Crafts gave me the opportunity to make a career in pattern and textile design, it gave me experience in product design and development, a way to make awesome, real world stuff. There is nothing better than seeing a product that once only existed in your mind in the palm of your hand or at one of your favorite stores.
When I absolutely can't be creating, I enjoy time spent with friends and family, trying new restaurants, and collecting indie board games. Some of my other talents include: pun creation, Leslie Knope like determination, cat like reflexes, food truck stalking skills, crying at dumb commercials, and fearlessness in the face of spiders.
